No. The bright light of reason might be uncomfortable to some, but if you are suggesting that couching reality into appeasing language is the only way to reach the other side, I disagree. I would even argue that we have admired the emperor’s clothes for far too long. Not mentioning the elephant in the room is what got us into this mess in the first place. I refuse to treat people as if they were mentally unhinged — I do believe that almost anyone can be won over by rational arguments; and those who cannot are lost anyway. What we no longer have is a SHARED reality. Media fragmentation surely compounded the problem, but there must be deeper reasons why we got to where we are today. That’s what we need to look into, don’t you think?
