Today a customer asked for a hot decaf coffee and to my dismay, I discovered that the decaf coffee had yet to be brewed.
What do you do?
In situations like this, in an attempt to not waste her time, or mine, I attempted to provide her with a decaf Americano, at the price of a hot decaf coffee.
She nodded yes to the alternative.
So being the smart barista I am, I asked for her name, and wrote an “A” for Americano, so the baristas on bar knew what to make in accordance with the queue.
In the midst of things, I forgot to check off the decaf box on her cup.
It was not until I got home, laid my head to rest that I realize what I had done.
