2015 — Our Year in Photos
Thanks to your support, tens of thousands received the gift of sight through our work over the past year. Here’s a quick look back at our favorite images from the field.
We continued to expand our work across India, where cataracts cause almost 2/3 of blindness.
We introduced our simulation technology in its first public presentation during the IAPB’s Annual Meeting in Beijing.
We provided sight-restoring care to thousands after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal in May.
We expanded into Madagascar with a launch near the capital city of Antananarivo…
…where we reached the milestone achievement of 200,000 procedures.
Our work in China expanded through a new partnership with Jinghua Eye Hospital in Shendong Province.
We launched operations in the West African country of The Gambia, where one of our first patients was Amady, a local wood carver…
…and our first surgeon was Haddy Sohna, the partner featured in our Giving Tuesday Campaign.
A group of friends even sent their support from Mount Rainier!
A special thanks to everyone who made it all possible.
