The Children of Seasons

Once upon a time in the kingdom of Peric, the Autumn King, like all men, faced the end of his days. Aged and conscious of every breath, the King stirred restlessly beneath a burden of his own making. For though he had been blessed with two daughters of Spring and…

The Beaver and The Blue Bird

A tall tale for our times Not all that long ago, by a river of no repute and in a tree of no real significance, there lived the king of the blue birds. Now, this blue bird was king by no official means. He was not the oldest, nor the…

You Are Still Here

Dedicated to Pam, who helped me save my life. I’ve thought about my own death a lot over the last couple of years. I realize this is an odd way to start but go with me on this…I promise it’s worth it. Now, allow me to break a rule for…

I love this so much!

I love this so much! It’s beautifully evocative of tye kind of desperation that unfortunately many young women are forced to experience. It also gave me a wonderful idea for a story so thank you very much for writing it :)

The older I get, the more I find how true cliches tend to be. I'm glad you're getting through it. Take care, and let me know if you ever need me to order a pizza (or literally anything that will help) <3

Delores, this is wonderfully hot. I love the build up surrounding the text messages, that was the perfect format to build tension and release. Very well done :) <3

LGBTQ Ex-Christians Struggling to Reverse Our Indoctrination

My own relationship with God is complicated to say the least.

My own relationship with God is complicated to say the least. I was also raised Catholic but only returned to the faith in recent years. Even now, I still find so much that I disagree with. I pray every night, my family and I go to Church every Sunday, but it feels like the Church and Christians make faith needlessly complicated. "God is love," and "Treat people the way you want to be treated." Neither of those statements are easy, but they are simple. There's no ambiguity to them and yet they're often the first principles to get thrown out when it comes to anyone who is deemed an 'other.' I want to thank you for writing this. You really did hit to the often very complicated relationship LGBTQ people have with the faith they were raised in.

I'm afraid you're right, and there really is nothing I can say that will make you feel better, or make you feel anything really. I could try to go for something profound, but that's not helpful either. So instead, I'll just say I'm sorry, and thank you for writing this. I really do believe it's helpful. Take care of yourself. At the end of the day, that's all any of us can do to get through anything, especially the worst thing that can happen <3
