From last question to first I don’t see how conservatism as a philosophy can be called greedy but I do understand how that paranoia that may have come about.

Global warming does seem a little hopeless at this point and perhaps this is why so many people seem to have given up. I can’t claim to be a conservationist unfortunately. I hate wastefulness and people that leave rubbish in nature but that’s normal isn’t it?

Lastly (or is that firstly) it’s hard to comment on the general level of science literacy but maybe we could lower the standard to a respect for reason in our policy and in public discourse. As for how common it is, my perspective has been severely skewed growing up in alternative hippie circles. Lets just say I have rebelled appropriately. 😆
