This is the problem we’re now having. Instances of real racism and bigotry are not getting the attention they need because the terms are being misused. Ironically too, one of the sources of that bigotry seem to be those that most vehemently claim to be against it.

So the moral clarity has really gone out of the fight and there is a lot of confusion around basic facts. It all seems to be up for debate which is very strange.

I think the solution at least to begin with is to go back to having respect for the facts and being prepared to honestly evaluate data and outcomes for people — to see just how certain policies or ideas impact people and accept if the conclusion goes against our biases. That would be a good start…
