What would the REAL me do?
(WARNING. Not for the faint hearted)
In my quest to live an authentic life I continue to look for all the attributes that make me who I truly am, explore all the experiences I’ve been through and discover what really gives me inner peace and happiness. There’s not many ways to describe this journey, my best attempt would be to say that it is a very wild adventure, I’m traveling through some of the most enticing, stunning and also very scary jungles. It’s an incredible experience, I’m learning so much about myself and I encourage you all to embark on this adventure as going through life without being true to ourselves would be a waste.
Throughout, I’ve come to question and think about how the real me would tackle certain situations versus how I eventually do end up acting. So when I ask ‘What would the REAL me do?’ I find myself asking these five questions to my true self.
5 powerful questions leading to ‘What would the REAL me do’?
- Is my decision in any way related to the public perception I have designed for myself or is this my truth?
- Am I making this decision because it’s right for everyone else or is it because it’s what I truly want?
- Do I feel that I actually have a choice in this matter or am I being asked to make this decision out of sheer courtesy?
- Am I keeping up appearances or does this decision really mirror who I am and what I stand for?
- Could fear be playing a part in my final decision?
Give these five questions a chance and you’ll be putting your true self where it deserves to be — centre stage, at the heart of it all. Start slow, be steady. This journey is lifelong and our search for our truth, our quest for authenticity is something which needs constant work and unconditional love.
And so the adventure begins…..
