Hillary Clinton visits Warren, Michigan — and lays out a plan to build an economy that works for everyone

I will have your back every single day that I serve. My mission in the White House will be to make our economy work for everyone, not just those at the top.”

Today, Hillary Clinton visited Futuramic Tool & Engineering in Warren, Michigan to describe her jobs and economic plan and explain to Michigan workers what it would do for them.

The short answer? A lot!

The room was filled with union workers, Futuramic employees, and allies ready to hear from Secretary Clinton. The room was buzzing with excitement, both for her visit and for what our future could hold under her leadership.

So why is Michigan (especially labor!) with Hillary? It all comes down to four major plans:

Hillary will create good-paying jobs.

In fact, independent economists say that her plan will create more than 10 million new jobs.

Hillary will work with both parties to pass the biggest investment in new good-paying jobs since World War II — modernizing our roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, and more.

Here in Michigan, Hillary will also help cities like Detroit and Flint connect under-served neighborhoods to opportunity. And she will repair schools and failing water systems.

And she’s going to invest $10 billion in “Make it in America” partnerships to support American manufacturing –and creating great manufacturing jobs here in Michigan and throughout the country.

Finally, Hillary said: “My message to every worker in Michigan and across America is this: I will stop any trade deal that kills jobs or holds down wages — including the Trans-Pacific Partnership.”

Hillary will fight for fairness in our tax system.

To make our economy grow we need to make it more fair.

To do that, Hillary has a plan to reward corporations for investing in their workers, equipment, and research. And she will encourage more companies to share profits with their workers.

And above all, she will fight for a more progressive tax code that puts American jobs first. That means keeping jobs in this country, and making sure that the super-rich pay their fair share of taxes.

Hillary will go to bat for working families

Hillary comes from a middle-class working family and deeply understands what American — and Michigan — families need to make their lives easier. It’s actually quite simple, and would go so far:

· Quality, affordable childcare

· Guaranteeing equal paychecks for women

· Paid family leave

· Raising the federal minimum wage

· Protecting and expanding Social Security

· And finally, strengthening unions

Hillary will bring people together and GET THIS DONE!

There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton will provide serious, steady leadership. She will bring both parties together and get everyone at the table — especially average Americas.

What does this look like to Hillary? “I think there are a lot of great ideas out in America, and I want you to have a say in your government. And that means we have to get unaccountable money out of our politics, overturn Citizens United, and expand voting rights, not restrict them.”

“There is still a long road ahead, but Michigan is on the rise. And everyone is contributing. That’s America at its best.”
