We are office official in Pontiac!

Hillary for Michigan is now office official in Pontiac! The office opening gathered a crowd from a lot of diverse backgrounds and different experiences unified for one cause: to elect Hillary Clinton as the first female President of the United States. The folks who came out to Pontiac had the opportunity to hear from Mayor of Pontiac Deirdre Waterman, House Democratic Leader Tim Griemel, Frank Houston chair of the Oakland Democratic Party, and Representative Brenda Lawrence. Each speaker brought a unique story to the table and offered their perspective on how important it is to elect Hillary Clinton and Democrats up and down the ticket this election cycle.

Among the packed crowd of supporters at the office opening was the Pierre family of Pontiac. Eve, a mother of three, says she felt like they were meant to be there. Eve supports Hillary Clinton because her mom was an avid supporter who passed away four years ago.

During the family’s move to Pontiac, Eve found her mom’s 2007 Hillary Clinton campaign t-shirt and took it as a sign to get involved in the campaign in her mother’s honor. This mother of three told me that her mom would have loved to see the passion of these supporters out for Hillary Clinton and she is determined to win this election — for mom.

Frank Houston, closed out the successful office opening with an analogy. Frank was speaking to people who are shy or afraid to knock doors and make phone calls and he asked those people if they would feel afraid to knock on a door of a person’s house if it was on fire. He told the crowd that this election cycle is too important to sit out and watch people’s houses burn down.
