Wendy Davis Fires Up the Great Lakes State!

Wendy Davis is a rare type of leader. Time and time again, we’ve seen her stand up when she sees an injustice and fight for the voiceless. And win or lose, she continues to fight for us again and again.

So it’s not surprising that many Michiganders felt a connection to Davis when she visited this past weekend.

Davis came to Michigan this weekend with one clear message: This is the most important election of our lifetimes, and your participation to elect Hillary Clinton will make all the difference.

She and other Michigan women leaders spoke to that at the Women’s Equality Day press conference, held in Erma Henderson Park (which is named after Detroit’s first black city councilwoman).

She also stopped by our newly opened Royal Oak office to help kick off a woman-to-woman phone bank.

During her trip, she also met with organizers and students in Kalamazoo and Lansing (and everyone was so happy to meet her!).

And she even signed a commit to vote card in Grand Rapids!

Davis ended her trip with an inspiring keynote speech at the Michigan Democratic Party Convention. (You can watch it here!)

Her speech really hit home for Michiganders, especially when she told everyone watching: “Your passion and your dedication for electing great candidates across Michigan and across this country is a reflection of the strong values of our party. Your work has made countless lives better. Your leadership will only raise our potential as democrats to elect those who will continue to fight for the ideas that we value most.”
