100 Stories: Emily Bates
Emily is a special needs teacher in North Carolina, and she knows that our state is losing its status as a leader in education. She’s supporting Democrats because she wants to make sure kids in North Carolina are prepared for tomorrow. Come November, she wants North Carolina’s values to be reflected in the results.

For me, what’s at stake in this election is the state of our country and the world in which we live. The values that we are at liberty to have right now may change on the outcome in this election. And I feel that we need someone that best reflects the values of our country and where we need to go from here.
I feel that Hillary Clinton will be able to bring back education in a positive way, she will be able to bring in more teachers to North Carolina, more resources, extra funds so we can actually be able to go in and provide supplemental resources, so we can enhance their education to make them more productive and have 21st century skills.
East of I-95, we have a large brain train. We need resources, we need factories, we need markets. We need people that are willing to do a job that know how to do a job. We need places where people can train to become productive citizens. North Carolina needs that in our region so we can grow and compete with the rest of the state.
We want to hear from you ! Tell us why you are voting for Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party this election here, and you could be featured next.
