Chuck E. Cheese’s

Chuck E. Cheese’s is one of those places that moves with the generations. When I was a kid, it was the “cool” place to be especially for birthday parties! In fact, Chuck E. Cheese’s gave me my first job. I was a party hostess, cashier, and even dressed up as the big guy himself from time to time.

Now that I have kids of my own, Chuck E. Cheese’s is still the place to be (especially with all of the new updates!). Chuck E. Cheese’s has partnered with Tesser to completely revamp the inside and outside of several San Antonio restaurants. With fun for all ages, here are a few reasons to go to Chuck E. Cheese’s with your kids:

#1. Chuck E. Cheese’s Creates Lifelong Memories

For 40-years, Chuck E. Cheese’s has served families by providing food, fun, and games for kids of all ages. Yes, this includes adults (even more so with the updates). With pizza, beer, and prizes,

Chuck E. Cheese’s is the place where a kid (0–100) can be a kid. You can spend time with your family creating memories that will last a lifetime. Not only will your kids forever remember their time at Chuck E. Cheese’s, but they can pass down their joy to their own kids.

But now it’s in an environment that isn’t a sensory overload. It has a more modern feel with calmer tones and sounds that invite parents and children in.

#2. Food and Entertainment

Instead of cutting the party short to get dinner, you can order food for the entire family here.

Chuck E Cheese’s new design features an open kitchen. This means kids can watch food being made, and parents know it’s made in house. Nice and fresh! Plus, there are way more food choices. Things like fresh wraps, sandwich choices, Cali Alfredo Pizza, BBQ pizza, and even gluten free options. Parents finally have more options to choose from than plain ole kiddy pizza and if you are in a hurry you can always use their self-service kiosks to order your food as well.

#3. It’s Great for Birthday Parties

Chuck E. Cheese offers great packaged deals full of pizza, cake, entertainment, and a positive environment for birthday parties. Instead of trying to fit 20 kids into your small family home, you can have a perfect party here with everything you need!

While I was there we got to experience the party area by making our own pizzas. Everything was fresh and homemade and to be honest a much better taste than their pizzas of the past. It was amazing getting to eat pizza right out of the oven!

Their new design even allows for larger parties and different configurations, making it the perfect place to boogie down.

When it comes to throwing a party, Chuck E. Cheese’s is still the place to be. And now they have modern play passes. Instead of carrying around tokens that spill everywhere, you can purchase your tokens on passes. Tap-to-play is so much easier!

There are even more games that are nicely separated into age groups. This makes finding the perfect game easy!

Of course, tickets still roll out of the machines when you win and can be redeemed for prizes. That’s half the fun, right?! When it is time to redeem your tickets you just use their handy ticket taker machine. It counts them up and prints out the total on a receipt. Unlike when I worked there, we used to have to weigh the tickets in a bowl to get the total amount. That slowed things down a bit.

#4. Chuck E. Cheese is Educational

Kids learn through play. Because Chuck E. Cheese’s is full of play, there is a lot of learning that goes on. Games teach hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and fast reflexes. Playing games teaches your kids patience and how to share. Although waiting for the game or activity you want to play isn’t fun, it is a great way to teach your kids about being respectful, sharing, and waiting their turn.

#5. Chuck E. Cheese Has Been Renovated

That’s right parents, Chuck E. Cheese at 1403 N. Loop 1604 E San Antonio, Texas has been renovated with you in mind. On August 9, 2017, Chuck E. Cheese hosted its ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the re-grand opening of the restaurant, and it is absolutely amazing! It was a big deal, even the CEO, Thomas (Tom) Leverton, of CEC Entertainment Inc. was there for the event. Roll out the red carpet, folks!

The new design focusses on the pizza-making process and more of a restaurant feel for adults. So, while the kids are off playing, you and your significant other can enjoy a relaxing time together.

#6. Say Goodbye To Animatronic Bands

Instead of the classic animatronic characters of the past, that would totally freak out the Five Nights At Freddy’s of today, there are more live mascots and a modern Dance Floor. This means no more animatronic stage shows (A quiet sigh of relief; I still dream about the music that constantly played when I worked there.) Instead, Chuck E. will make his grand appearance on a centralized dance floor for all to see AND dance.

If you haven’t taken your kids to Chuck E. Cheese’s, now is the time to head out there! What was your favorite childhood memory of Chuck E. Cheese? Share in the comments below!
