Ask Ethan: How close are we to a Theory of Everything?
Ethan Siegel

simple answer has to be, since we can’t see everything, we can only see but so small, but no smaller, , so fast but no faster, and for only so long, we’re trapped in a box of limitations.

We are unable to grasp at what an ultimate reality is, so

There is no way we can derive a theory of everything since we can’t know everything, just bits and pieces, and we’re not even very good at that.

But the research is worthwhile, because it yields very useful technology and inventions.

And besides, who knows, as we better understand our perceptual limits, we may yet get past them
