Hours 2.05
Since we acquired Hours, our goal at Five Pack Creative has been to deliver a great, end-to-end experience, whether you use Hours via the app, web, watch, or a combination of the three to track your time!
However, we’ve uncovered several concerns that dramatically impact that experience and do not meet the experience we want to deliver.
Simply stated, we are in the midst of some of the growing pains that accompany the process of making Hours world class. We want to maintain the beautiful design and seamless user experience, fix things that are broken, and make improvements that we feel are important and necessary to make Hours deliver on our goal of a great customer experience!
Sometimes these changes can seem pretty disjointed and without merit. So we want to take a few minutes to communicate some of the behind-the-scenes activity with you, the passionate and loyal supporters! Our goal is to be transparent while ensuring we can share something of substance and that is what this blog post is really all about. So let’s talk about the recent update!
What’s Great About Version 2.05
After a few iterations and lots of testing and beta testing by our internal QA group and some of you (thank you, by the way), we finally landed on Version 2.05 (currently in the store). This build accomplished a lot of what we wanted to do right away, including:
1. Sync Is Improved (Though Not Fixed For Every Situation)
We’ve heard reports that sync between the iOS and web apps is faster, more accurate and more reliable overall. It’s not perfect, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction with more improvements to come!
2. Pull To Refresh
We added a simple way to manually sync your data and tell if it’s correct. So much easier!

3. Search For Overlapping Time Blocks
By adding the ability to search for and fix past overlapping time blocks, we eliminated one of the main offenders causing inaccurate data.
What’s Not
We’re pleased with many of the things that Hours 2.05 introduced; however, we know there are some issues that need to be addressed. Here is a list of known bugs that we’re working hard to get fixed ASAP:
1. A handful of people have reported losing data. This doesn’t seem to be widespread, but it’s certainly at the top of our list to fix. If you have experienced this, please contact our support team at support@hourstimetracking.com. The more info we have about this bug, the faster we can squash it and provide help if available!
2. Some users are still missing full access to in-app reporting. This is definitely an unintentional bug during the free trial or as a paid customer and we’re working to resolve it quickly.
3. Multiple inaccurate push notifications. Kind of annoying and the fix is on its way!
What’s Next
In the very near future, we have a release planned that will include some highly desired updates. What are they?
We will be reactivating the Today Widget! We had to temporarily remove the widget due to some pre-iOS 10 limitations that were brought to light while we were focused on sync, but we heard you loud and clear and it’s coming back as soon as possible!
We also have some great Watch updates, including Hours complications! A complication for every Watch face will soon make it easy to know which timer, if any, is running. We’re super excited and we hope you are too!

If you have questions or issues you would like us to know about, our support team is very knowledgeable and helpful. You can contact them at support@hourstimetracking.com.
As always, thank you for your continued support while we work to make sure Hours remains the best time tracking app ever!
