If this is your first NFT, no problem! We have you covered. One of our goals is to bring new people into the space. It honors us to know that the House of First collections will be the first NFTs for so many of you.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to set up your MetaMask wallet and mint your first NFT:

1. Set up your Metamask
First thing you will need is a MetaMask wallet. To get a MetaMask wallet, visit the official MetaMask website and download the Chrome extension — https://t.co/cQg0Cs5Ggg?amp=1. Whenever visiting the MetaMask website make sure the url is metamask.io. To learn more about how to set up MetaMask and find your wallet address, you can watch this informative video — https://t.co/7QrSzG6YEK?amp=1. For additional information, here is the MetaMask FAQ: https://metamask.io/faqs.

For security, don't share your secret recovery phrase with anyone (if someone asks for your secret recovery phrase or access to your account’s QR code/private key, it is a scam). It’s also good practice to write your secret recovery phrase on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place rather than storing it electronically. Here are some additional security tips: https://ethereum.org/en/security/.

2. Adding Ethereum (ETH) to your MetaMask Wallet
Once your MetaMask is setup, you need to add ETH to be able to mint or purchase ETH-based NFTs. You can buy ETH from an exchanges like Coinbase and transfer the ETH to your MetaMask wallet address or in some parts of the world you can buy ETH directly from your MetaMask wallet. If you need help with buying ETH from Coinbase and transferring to MetaMask, the following videos will be useful: https://t.co/SeclFEVmmO?amp=1 and https://youtu.be/9NQgCyOXQlY.

Please note, using the Ethereum network requires gas fees to execute transactions. When you purchase tokens, interact with a contract, send ETH, or do anything else on the blockchain, you must pay for transactions. Please refer to https://metamask.io/1559 for additional details. Gas fees will vary based on transaction and contract, but to avoid issues, please add 0.05–0.06 ETH to cover gas fees per NFT. You can use this website to track Ethereum gas fees: https://etherscan.io/gastracker.

3. Minting Site
Once your MetaMask is set up and you have ETH in your wallet you are ready to mint. All House of First mints will be completed through the respective collection pages on https://houseoffirst.com/ — please be sure that you always mint from our official website. Never connect your wallet for a “surprise” mint or links sent to you in direct messages (DMs) unless you’ve triple verified its legitimacy with official team members. “Mint now” or “claim your prize” type links sent via DMs are scams in most cases. In general, please do not interact with any suspicious or unverified links.

4. Mint Process
Once you are on the collection page for minting:
A) Connect your MetaMask wallet
B) Select the number of NFTs you want to mint
C) Press the mint button
D) Confirm the transaction in your MetaMask
E) Wait for confirmation that your mint succeeded
F) View your NFTs in MetaMask Mobile or OpenSea

5. Using a Secondary Market such as OpenSea (OS)
Once you set up your MetaMask wallet and add ETH, you can connect your MetaMask to https://opensea.io/ and create an account to purchase, sell, transfer, and create NFTs. Here’s how to get started with OS: https://support.opensea.io/hc/en-us/sections/360011539774-Getting-Started. Make sure you only purchase NFTs from official OS collections as fake collections are created regularly and look exactly like the originals.

If you need additional help with any of these steps, please contact a moderator or Team member in the House of First Discord: discord.gg/houseoffirst.

Congratulations and welcome to the world of NFTs!
