Expectation seem to be getting in the way as presented by this article. Rather than understanding this as a new technology and investigating appropriate uses, we keep trying to model human level learning and failing. Psychology can’t be reduced to biology or algorithms that operate at the biological level. What we’re missing is more than genetic disposition. It is the intertwined nature of psychology with culture and other individuals. It is more than devising algorithms on the fly. Intelligence is a multilevel system. It is not the narrow meaningless definition found in IQ testing, but is in fact not well understood because we’ve been focused on the wrong unit of analysis.
