Still not there Prashant. Take the rasist chatbot example. The AI is not thinking, they’re automating text through an algorithm composited from examples, but I have hermeneutic capabilities that do not function in this behavioristic based algorithm. Where things are well defined and bounded this works, and in the 20th centruy much of the economy was designed around a Taylorist mechanistic model, but that hopefully is not the future. Behaviorism is not a major force in psychology today because of it’s weak explanatory capability and I see AI going down the same path. Behaviorism is great for training animal or AI behavior, but human functioning need different models. Just can’t quite say what they are yet.
