Making The World Look Better

It’s so common that it has it’s own law.

The second law of thermodynamics to be precise. Everything is in a state of entropy. Breaking down. Falling apart. Collapsing in on itself.

Over the course of the last several years (and the last year especially) it feels as though this second law has become the law of the land. Old friends in the real world unfriending online. Daggers thrown over social media to targets unknown and yet very real. Even those at the heights of power have strained against the clarion call of truth in an age of suspicion, resolute opinion, and great uncertainty.

It’s times like these that we were made for.

You and I can’t control what’s coming next and what kind of world we are becoming. What we can control is how we react, respond, and reply to change.

The 19th-century English novelist Mary Shelley once said: “Invention, it must be humbly admitted, does not consist in creating out of void but out of chaos.”

Our messaging in these times, be it by image or word, are acts of invention. Chaos, entropy, and disorder all provoke within us one of two responses… resignation or renovation.

As a creative in these times, my mission has never been clearer: to communicate clearly amidst the chaos and to build better in spite of it.

Designing shapes, colors, images, words, ideas, spaces… this the antidote to entropy. Design brings order out of chaos. I operate under the assumption that by making the world like a more organized, simple, functional, and approachable place… maybe it will someday actually be one.

Fake it till you make it, right?

Whatever you are trying to communicate, let me help tell your story. You may need a logo, an elegant layout, content writing, or an open ear and keen eye to fine-tune your branding strategy. Whatever it is you are trying to say, Howes Design Service can help you say it. After all, the world needs what you have to offer and you need to them that it’s here.
