CBD stops epileptic seizures — a new study from the American Epilepsy Society
The American Epilepsy Society has released a study showing CBD to be effective combating epilepsy, especially in children.
According to the study, titled “Efficacy and Safety of Epidiolex (Cannabidiol) in Children and Young Adults With Treatment-Resistant Epilepsy”, found that CBD was effective in reducing BOTH the frequency and severity of seizures in both children and adults.
“These results from an uncontrolled study support the animal studies and prior reports showing that CBD may be a promising treatment for [treatment-resistant epilepsies] and it is generally well-tolerated in doses up to 25mg/kg/day.”
Even more promising, the study showed
“In the subsequent periods, which are very encouraging, 9 percent of all patients and 13 percent of those with Dravet Syndrome epilepsy were seizure-free.
Many have never been seizure-free before.”
