HubSpot Invests in Maze to Make Research More Accessible for Companies and Their Teams

Unsurprisingly, 80% of teams agree research is critical for their business though over half of the world’s product teams don’t have the resources or tools for user testing at scale. That’s where Maze comes in. Today, HubSpot Ventures announced an exciting new investment in Maze, the leading rapid testing platform that empowers agile teams to test, learn and act rapidly. Maze empowers product and marketing teams to test anything from prototypes to copy or round up user feedback — all in one place. As HubSpot’s first integration in the testing category, our partnership with Maze will help to provide feedback within HubSpot’s sales, service, and reporting products.
Co-founders Jonathan Widawski and Thomas Mary built Maze after having experienced first-hand just how difficult it was to access data, validate ideas, and get actionable user insights to make confident decisions during the most critical part of a product life cycle — the design phase. At their previous startup, they had a waiting list of 2,000 people willing to test their prototype, but no platform that would easily allow them to test their product idea at scale.

While Maze began with the belief that product design teams should have easy access to data during the design phase, they’ve since evolved their vision to empower everyone across an organization to test, iterate, and evolve. Maze makes cross-functional collaboration look easy by working off of centralized, real-time data to bring products and ideas to life. By building a validation layer that sits between road-mapping tools like Jira and design tools like Figma, Maze lets users test across platforms, making testing for small businesses more accessible.
