How do you write about environmentalism without sounding preachy? How do you turn it into art?
The delicate balance of art and activism

This is an interesting topic, Robin. Whenever I’m writing, whether it be satire or a script, I’m committed to telling a story. More than anything, I want readers to think of something differently — perhaps to shed light on an idea or point of view they’ve never quite fully imagined. I certainly believe one can learn from art! I don’t believe the purpose of creation is to be didactic. So, when creating, I don’t attempt to show and tell. I will simply show. Interpretation is up for grabs, and that’s one of the most beautiful things about art. Just because I like a book doesn’t mean that you will. Just because you enjoy a certain painting doesn’t mean that I will. And that’s perfectly okay. :)
