These Women

these women

innocent, with dark hair and dark eyes and darker hearts

beautiful, in a savage way, like the edge of a razor, like a flame

these women

you think they will eat your heart out

but they save that for you

and eat whats left

eyes, lungs, soul

these women

they look you in the eye, and you believe what you see

they tell you to stop

but you can’t

so you wake up one morning with your heart on a plate

with these women demanding you run a knife through it, and eat

which you do

by the time you’re finished, you’re left with

no heart, no hope, nothing but

these women.
