It interested me to ask about the New Oil and knowing that lots of the community members will be interested in learning about why Oluwashina Peter calls it The New Oil!

Peter went further to share experience in the Journey of discovering cryptocurrency when I read his experience I did have a smile because it connects to the Nigerian community.
Peters Shares: “So my experience in crypto has been a crazy and fun one. Back in 2016, a friend sent something about Bitcoin to our WhatsApp group and I asked him about it. He told me about how I could make money from it and all that (he never told me what bitcoin was all about). He made me believe bitcoin was an investment scheme where you put in some money and get more back in a few days or weeks. With that mindset, I jumped into Ponzi schemes, made money but lost most of it including my capital. So I decided to look into bitcoin a bit further and I was shocked about the mysteries I unraveled”

Isaac asked a question: “What indicators do you use for your trading and time frame you consider? And also can you explain how Elliot waves work?”
“I use 3 indicators — MACD, RSI, Accumulation/Distribution
The time frame for traders differs for everyone. We have different trading psychology and systems.
But I’m a position trader, I can wait for days and weeks to take my profit off a trade.Elliot waves is a count of rallies and reactions. The market works in waves and it always repeats itself, Elliot waves is a technique to pick out these waves and trade along with them’’
Question asked by Igbins247: Do you see BTC as an investment or a medium of exchange?
Peter answered: “Bitcoin was designed to be medium of exchange but along its course due to some technical difficulties and the factor of human greed. It is slowly transitioning into more of a “digital gold” ”
How can a newbie get started?
Learn, unlearn, relearn!!
First things first before committing any money into crypto, learn about Bitcoin & Blockchain technology. Expand your research into other top cryptocurrencies and learn about them and their Blockchain.
This will not only help you ease into the ecosystem but form a strong part of your fundamental analysis skills.The next step is to buy a small bit of cryptocurrency. Send, receive, hold them for a while and sell off when you’ve made some profits.

James asked: “What’s your perception of the cryptocurrency space in Nigeria?”
Peter responded “ I think cryptocurrency adoption is gradually picking up but it still needs a lot of awareness and proper education about what it’s all about and what it could be used for. This will help reduce the scams happening all around and the perception that Cryptocurrency is a scam.
This is a relatively new monetary instrument and I believe the strongest use case of Cryptocurrencies in Nigeria is Remittance.
Cryptocurrency trading is also a very good side of crypto, however, please seek proper knowledge before you engage in trading and use only a well regulated, secure and proven exchange like Huobi”
