Why Do You Hustle

This almost seems like too easy of a question to be asking, yet I bet if you ask people who claim to be hustling all the time, they can’t really tell you why. They may give you a mission statement of whatever business or side hustle they are doing, but that is not the same as why.
A mission statement is something like, to provide hope, to increase client sales, to improve social media marketing. But that is now a why. If you don’t know why you’re hustling, it will become hard to keep going. You may have noticed how many people give up on what they are doing after only few months (Podcast, YouTube, Blogging, Consulting Business, Coaching Business, Software Business, etc…)
It’s almost cliché how many people give up. It’s because they don’t know why they want to do what they are doing, because of this, when they don’t see instant success, they give up and move on to the next item. But those that know why they are focused and hustle, stick with it, they keep going at it and eventually create success. This isn’t to say that talent doesn’t play a part, but lots of talent and no reason/passion does not work.
So why do you Hustle? This may be as simple as to improve your finances to provide for your family, to save for retirement or to gain financial independence/financial freedom. You may be stating these are not good reasons, remember this is your why, not your mission statement. How you go about achieving your why is up to you. For example, your why could be to gain financial freedom to live your passion and a life of meaning. Your mission statement maybe to provide hope to others by using your talents and passion to create financial planning solutions that eliminate debt and increase disposable income.
This is just an example. Your reason why and how you apply that will all be based on you. But if you create a business and work hard at it, yet don’t know why you’re really doing so, it seems empty with little purpose. At that point, you don’t stay at if vary long.
Now take some time to think about this and before you start your next thing. If you already started something that you are losing motivation for, take a day or two to think about your why before giving up.
Lastly, take a self-assessment, are you really an entrepreneur, do you have entrepreneurial tendencies or are you really meant to be an employee and only trying to chase money.
Be true to yourself and your motivation.
