The school is over, Starting from 0$ or less
I’m at the point where the school is over… literally, I feared this moment for a long time but it’s finally there. I finished my bachelor’s in accounting, and I finished my MBA in accounting, on top of that I passed in last September the CPA exams for the accounting title here in Canada, and now I’m just hoping to have succeeded theses exams.
End of school means start working for real, like … for real. I worked during summer’s, I worked during school, I had been part of student association, but working a full 9–5 job doesn’t drive me more than that. Don’t get me wrong, I am kind of excited to start making money for real, but in the meantime, I always wanted to work for myself, have my things, in fact, have my business. But I never take the time for it, I have ideas, but I’m a good procrastinator (Look at that video it’s literally me and probably some peoples could see themselves in that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arj7oStGLkU ), and I always worked like that. In school, I always been good, and studying was not my type of hobby to keep it simple.
But now, I’m here, starting my corporate job in little more than one week, and I’m asking myself how I could achieve what I want in life? There is no deadline now, there is no recipe to follow exactly to arrive to the destination I want, how I could motivate myself?
It’s why I’m writing this, honestly, I don’t really care if I have 0 readers or 10 readers, I am principally doing it for myself like a constant motivation. I want to be able to read theses texts in 1 years, 2 years and saw what the path I have traveled and the goals I was able to achieve, and if on the way I’m able to inspire some people it’s just a bonus!
Thinking of that, writing is a good way to learn, I always heard that writing about something is the best way to understand it. In the process for the CPA exams, doing retroactions on our past practices was an important key of success, so I think this process can be applied to my actual situation.
So….

Who am I?
It’s important to understand, I’m doing this for me, so I don’t really want to be recognized, it’s why I took for Username ‘’HustleKid’’, and I will refer has myself by the letter T.
I’m a 24-year-old man, who live in Canada, I’m a French Canadian, so it’s why my English is not perfect and it’s possible I use some expressions meaning nothing in English, I’m sorry about that! Just really don’t hesitate to correct me if you see something major, I’m here to learn.
About the school topic, I already said the most part, but in college I got a formation in Insurance and in Highschool, it’s better to don’t talk about it, the school where wasn’t good at all and I’m one of the few who make my way to the university. However, a lot of the people I met there are still really good friends of mine.
Otherwise, I was raised in a good family with lovely parents, but we were not rich at all, but I never miss anything, and they taught me good values.
Overall, I think it all you need to know about me if you want to know more just ask me!
How will work my writing?
The actual goal of this writing is to do a retroaction of the last 2 weeks, and how things develop and what I could improve to correct the situation if I see it’s doesn’t go in the right direction.
So, I will be posting every 2 weeks, starting on the Friday, October 15th, a resume of the last 2 weeks and what’s important happened during this time.
Maybe sometime, I’ll have a lot of things to say, or maybe I won’t, but one thing is sure it’s I won’t make content just to make content, it’s not in the spirit of this writing. Like I said, the main goal is to reflect and doing a retroaction of the last events to improve my decision making and motivate me along the way, and at the same time document my path.
I will go as much as I can in detail, so I’ll talk about money and about some projects, but without giving critical information who can risk the viability of a project.
The starting point:
What the actual picture of my situation
Well before entering at university, I was able to stake a decent amount of money, that amount melted during my university course, but fortunately here in Canada the access to education is less expensive than the US. So overall, my course lets me at the end with approximately 40K in debt.
In a little bit more than one than one week I’ll start my corporate job, I signed a contract in an accounting office for a yearly salary of 44K (Yeah, accounting s*ck… all theses years in school for that). The be honest, I know for fact than I’m able to get more in a private enterprise even with the lack of experience I got right now, but I think (and I hope) the experience I will gain in an accounting office will be valuable and will help me to direct my next choice.
Another thing, I have recently I started a YouTube channel it has less than 50 subs, but I’m consistent in my postings. My objective was to get 50 subs from the end of the years so it’s in the good way.
Finally, I had an idea with the main objective to help small business of my area, I work a little bit on it, but it needs more to be a viable idea, I will write about the development of this idea.
That’s pretty much the picture of the situation:
- 40K debt
- Salary: 44K
- YouTube channel < 50 sub
- Business idea to develop
My objectives:
What are the objectives… this question is hard, and probably what I will write today will evolve in time, but there are my 3 principals objectives till 30 y/o :
- Net worth of 1 million $
- Have my company (Don’t work for somebody else)
- Have multiple income streams (Actives or Passives) at least 3
I know, it’s a colossal task, but I really think I can achieve it and I’ll work toward theses.
In my next paper, I will try to provide updates on the actual situation and detail on the more short-term objectives.
Until then, Take care!
Sincerely,
T
