Up and running!

HutsintheHills

WoW! Over month ago we welcomed our first guests into the huts and what a month it has been.

We have had so many lovely guests, it has been quite overwhelming.

Unfortunately the timing of the huts being ready coincided with our family holiday to France. So as we jetted off to a sunnier climate Haily was left in charge. I found it so difficult to leave the huts as they began their new chapter, after two years of planning and work and then missing our first guests.

Happy holidays!

But i need not have worried Haily (very much thrown in at the deep end!) did a fantastic job with many guests messaging me to compliment her and their stay:

what a fabulous couple of nights, fantastic views from the veranda and Haily very kindly answered all of our questions and made us most comfortable”

And while we are mentioning compliments we have had some wonderful reviews from our guests about their stays, below are a few snippets-

“absolute gem of a place to stay”

“blown away by its location and the spectacular panoramic views”

“the attention to detail was staggering”

“The overall experience sets it apart from anything else, they are truly in a class of their own”

How cool is that! We hugely appreciate these lovely words particularly in the infancy of our adventure.

We have learnt SO many things this first month, it has been a steep learning curve. But we have LOVED every minute of it!

So whats next…..

as the long, balmy (yes they were balmy for a while)summer evenings now start to draw in with a definite nip in the air we welcome the autumnal change (unless we get an Indian summer and we would most definitely welcome that too!).

The log store is about to be re stocked as we imagine the Hobbit stoves will come into their own making the huts a cosy oasis from the chill.

The hot chocolate and marshmallow supplies will be kept topped up!

We’ll have our camera at the ready to capture the perfect starry sky images

You will also ind us in the pastures foraging for mushrooms or falling into the hedgerows reaching for the largest of blackberries, always just out of reach.

Fresh as you get!

And the leaves, i just love the change of colours. We are so lucky to be surrounded by woodland and the colours become quite spectacular.

And on the farm……

The harvest is finished-

Well driven Bompa!

And the girls have finished showing their sheep-

Penelope, Eliza and Olivia with Prendwick Dawn and Prendwick Elizabeth

The cattle will be brought down off the hill ready for autumn calving and the tups will be heading out to entertain the sheep! Hopefully the hens will start laying again and we are looking forward to walking through the woods with leaves crunching under our feet!

We look forward to your visit!

Three children +one dog +one husband trying to work the timer on his camera = a very large glass of wine 10 minutes later!
