The Neuschwanstein Castle receives an average of 1.5 million visitors a year.

Neuschwanstein Castle is located in Bavaria, South Germany.

It’s often considered one of the most romantic and emblematic castles in the world.

The mix of neo-Gothic architecture and picturesque location makes it one of Germany’s most visited tourist attractions.

Neuschwanstein Castle was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle

The construction of the castle was initiated by King Louis II of Bavaria, also known as “the Mad King due to his eccentric reputation and passion for building castles.

Louis II was inspired by the operas of Richard Wagner, particularly Lohengrin” and “Tristan und Isolde”.

The first stone was laid on September 5, 1869, under the direction of architect Eduard Riedel, but he was soon replaced by Georg von Dollmann.
