Win or lose, elections can be rough. Here are some ways that we all have managed to cope when finding ourselves on the losing side:

1. Swear you’ll NEVER work in politics again!

2. Get hammered as results are coming in

3. Publicly embarrass yourself by crying

4. Turn your phone off and say you’re going “off the grid”

5. Binge watch all seasons of The Office on Netflix

6. Eat an exorbitant amount of take-out

7. Aggressively tweet, blog, rant for no reason

8. Unlike/unfollow all political things on social media

9. Catch-up with non-political friends (and apologize for blowing up their timelines with too much of your campaign propaganda)

10. Randomly start a fight with someone in order to release your anger

11. Throw out all unused campaign material that you find around the house

12. Save face by telling everyone you totally knew you were going to lose

13. Turn on the news and repeat next election cycle.
