The naughty corner

She asked me to tell her the story of Jonah & the whale. So I did. I made it appropriate for her- she is 4, the youngest of my kids. While I was searching for language that would convey the message without losing the essence, the Holy Spirit likened the belly of the whale to a…‘naughty corner’😊

Jonah had been disobedient to God. The belly of the whale, while very unpleasant, was a place of protection from the sea otherwise he would have undoubtedly drowned. It also gave him time to reflect on his behaviour — disobedience.

A naughty corner is for protection & reflection…

You will not drown there.

Reflect, so you can move on, hopefully in the right direction. Jonah did & the people of Nineveh turned from their evil ways & were spared.
