Day 12,439
I skipped yesterday. I was a little off my game.
Typical Monday though. Woke up at 8am. Hung out for a few and went to go to laundry. With a dozen or so laundromats here in Beverly, I still go to one in Salem. It’s probably the cleanest one I’ve ever been to. They also have very efficient machines. Cost me less than $10 a week.
Came home and folded it. I fought leaving the socks for Amber, but I did them anyway. I hate folding socks. Watched an episode of The Arrow. And went to go get Lorelai.
Went to go get Lorelai. I got there 10 minutes early. So, I went in anyway and they made me wait 15 minutes. Not bad. Her teacher told me she had a great day. Hung out with her for a while, ate lunch and then I brought Lorelai to her appointment. Took a nap while she was there. We met Lorelai’s mom at CVS and gave Lorelai to her. She told me that she didn’t have the best day contrary to what her teacher told me.
Went back home for a few minutes before work. Didn’t really have time to do anything but grab my work shirt and go back out the door.
I was supposed to have my review last night at work, but that never ended up happening. With my impending promotion, they want to watch me supervise. So, they’ve given me a few people to supervise. Feels good to be back in a position with some clout. It’s kind of hard to do what I need to do and make sure that other people are doing what they need. My boss’ seem to forget I’m not salaried (yet) so I don’t have all night to do the reports, and other things I could do if I’m not watching over shoulders.
I have 3 people currently in my office working for me. 1 is leaving in a couple weeks, one will be replacing me in the warehouse duties. He actually told me last night he doesn’t think he’s ready to fill those shoes. Because not only are they pretty big shoes (you know what they say about a guy with big feet) but I also double as a floatation device when one section of the team decides they like the Titanic movie a little too much.
That leaves one full time guy in the office. It’s a big responsibility and I’m not sure there is anyone but myself that can handle it by themselves. I need to sit with him one of these days and make sure he knows what to do and how to do it. He’s been there for a few weeks and should be able to figure it out by now. If not, he’s a lost cause. I have to have my main man make sure that he knows what he’s doing so when I split them up, everything continues to run smoothly. I hope they decide to replace the 2 people I’m losing. Even if it’s just one more.
Wow. That went on way longer than it should have. I’m sorry and if you’re still reading this. Thank you.
Until tomorrow…
