Day 12,443
So, on Wednesday I decided it would be a good idea to throw an impromptu party Saturday night. I made the Facebook event, and invited some friends.
When we got up Saturday morning, we headed to Salem to get Lorelai. Driving in Salem 2 days in a row in late August isn’t exactly fun, but I apparently hate myself and continue to do it. We grabbed Lorelai and headed to Target to grab some stuff for the party, and some stuff we needed for life. We actually got out of Target for $20.05. TWENTY dollars. Not entirely sure how, but I’m ok with it.
We headed home and began cleaning the house. Lorelai took her room, and the hallway where her tent is. Amber and I took the rest of the house. Cleaning the kitchen, living room and bathroom. I get so anxious when people come over and my house isn’t clean. I have no idea why, but if my house isn’t clean (to my standards) I lose my mind. A few weeks ago, I came home from work and while everyone was sleeping, I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom because I didn’t get the chance before work. Once the house was clean, we relaxed a little.
We headed over to Auntie Jodi’s house and met up with the fam. Lorelai got to play with Arya and Cole while we hung out with Nicole, Ash and Auntie Jodi. They jumped on the trampoline and played with Barbie’s. They are really weird kids. While we were there I was lucky enough to get to rehang a roller shade in the bathroom.
We headed back home to get ready for the bunch of people we invited. We realized half way though that we forgot stuff and still needed wine/beer. So, Amber walked down and got some stuff. I made the Kielbasa and buffalo cheese dip. I need to cut back on the hot sauce though as this one was WAY too spicy. We also had hummus and carrots, chips and French onion dip.
Our friends Kevin and Trish came over with their son Nate. Ash and Arya came over too. And that was the extent of our party. 5 people. It got out of hand early and we had to shut it down. Kevin and Trish left just before 9. She’s REALLY pregnant, and Nate was up past his bed time. Ash and Arya stayed the night. Between Ash and me, we finished a yuge bottle of wine, AND a normal one. Amber finished her bottle all by herself. Sometimes she makes me proud.
Lorelai and Arya slept in her room while Ash crashed on the couch. I woke up this morning and Arya was sleeping on top of Ash on the couch with her elbow in Ash’s mouth. Neither looked that comfortable.
Even though only a few people showed up I’m glad they did. It was a fun night and the kids had a blast.
Until tomorrow…
