I second this. Signing the papers to owe that amount of money was mind-numbingly terrifying for me. I would lay awake in a cold sweat. The only way I could calm the terror enough to function was to remind myself (over and over) that I had paid rent for years and it was fine and I had to live somewhere and I was a responsible adult. But, as garli says, this is not a rational fear so rational thought is only so helpful in managing the panic.
