Rehabilitation Work in Rafik Hariri University Hospital
‘’Supporting access to health care where it is needed the most’’ is an ICRC-implemented project in Rafik Hariri University Hospital. Funded by Avina Stiftung foundation, it started in 2016 and will run until 2020. The project is driven by five main objectives related to access to health care, quality of care, continuum of care, capacity building and knowledge transfer as well as research.
Taking care of emergency patients doesn’t end with just providing the right treatment, it also requires quality, comprehensive medical care throughout the entire process. This is why the ICRC supports the RHUH by reinforcing the infrastructure of the hospital and renovating essential services, like cooling and heating system, electrical panels, water treatment plant and waste disposal as well as renovating a whole ward where ICRC receives patients.
