IEEE PSYWC is the largest annual event of IEEE in Pakistan (being organized in different cities for the past 9 year) which provides an opportunity for the like minded students, professionals and industrialist to gather at one platform and share their experience. Before we even begin with sharing further details about what this congress/gathering/event/meetup exactly is, it’s important for us to share who we are and what we do.

IEEE Pakistan Student/ Young Professionals/ Women in Engineering Congress

The IEEE’s Pakistan Student, YP (Young Professionals) and WIE (Women in Engineering) Congress (PSYWC) is the largest event for the students and young professionals in the three IEEE sections of Pakistan (Lahore, Islamabad & Karachi). The Congress gives a chance to the IEEE student branch members, young professionals and women belonging to different fields of science and technology from all over Pakistan to gather at one place and learn new skills while polishing their expertise. They are provided with the platform to meet, socialize and share professional experiences with each other. In the past few years, different universities having IEEE student branches have organized this congress and it improves and grows every year. With 2007 being the year of first and inaugural episode of this amazing gathering, the most recent (and the biggest) was hosted by IEEE Student Branch of Comsats University Islamabad, from 2nd October to 4th October, 2015 in collaboration with IEEE Islamabad Section.
What Made IEEE PSYWC ’15, the BEST?
The IEEE PSYWC follows a different theme every year. Given the need of the hour, we planned to go with empowerment and therefore our theme for IEEE PSYWC 2015 was Empowering Youth for the Challenges of Tomorrow. All the sessions, talks and workshops were carefully planned keeping this theme and vision of empowerment in mind. We gathered over 500 participants (525 for the detailed oriented precision hungry readers) from around 39 different universities coming from 18 different cities and 4 different provinces of Pakistan.

We invited over 35 speakers including accomplished industrialists, academicians and entrepreneurs to share their life lessons with the participants, hence empowering them for something better in the years to come. The post event survey results tell us that we somehow managed to bring some value to all the participants by empowering them one way or the other.

In another survey that we ran, it was observed that the participants were mostly happy and satisfied with the quality and amount of content delivered during this 3 day congress. Keeping this in mind, we have decided to publicly share a summary of all the delivered content from those 36+ sessions, trainings and workshops in this year’s (2015) congress, so that even those who couldn’t join us, can also benefit from a goldmine of knowledge that was shared.

We’ll be posting the summary of ONE session every day over the next one month, trying to cover all the important takeaway points. Please feel free to share it with all those in your circles, whom you think, can benefit from it. Stay tuned.
