The Former Things

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Revelation 21: 2–4

Count the blessings — if you can. For from the moment you were created — God has shown you great and wonderful things. He has led you through the darkness and given you the Light. His Wisdom has far surpassed the treasures of this earth.

His Love abounds in your life — and He waits for you to share this testimony with others, where He uses you to pour His Love out on others that need His Touch, that need to hear His Voice. What prevents you from loving others, the way that Christ has loved you? What obstacle is there? Through each day, we rise and go on our way — and each moment appears to be similar to the day before, and the one before that.

But you know the Truth — that He makes all things new. That each day should be different than the one before. For the Kingdom of God is alive and is filled with His Breath. And you carry it within your being, in your heart — in the depths of your well spring — which was never intended to be a reservoir without a tributary — that releases the Truth.

It is His Glory — that brings change — that directs your path and orchestrates your steps. That is the food, the manna needed — for us to be shown His Glory — which is the Kingdom of God moving and expanding through the steps of the Children of God — His Sons and Daughters. But what of the cost?

It is your time — that must be given over to the King of Kings. That those seconds needed for this or that — the things of this earth, this world — that are put before you. Put that aside, that you might fix your eyes on the Cross — that you might contemplate the death and resurrection — spending time at His Feet. Are you the Mary that has chosen what is right?

Ask God to show you His Glory. Be persistent — be Hungry, for more of Him. Never be satisfied with the former things — for they will pass away. Live in the Kingdom Come and His Will be Done — for it is not a future effort on Heaven’s part — but a River that flows heavily laden with God’s Presence. Allow your heart to break for that one, the lost — the sick, the hurting — the hungry. Live in the next step, the inhale and not just the exhale.

Ask God to breathe on you — to reckon the day and establish your foot steps, bringing you to the new thing(s) — never static, but moving with God. He never sleeps, but is always vigilant — always seeing — always knowing — He is God.
