A good way to take better care of hair health is to understand the hair structure. The strands are composed of proteins, predominantly keratin, also found in other parts of the body, such as the nails.

The outer layer of the hair is called the cuticle and acts in the protection and shine of the hair, while the cortex, located inside, provides strength, elasticity and permeability.

The high temperatures of flat iron and babyliss, if used frequently, cause irreparable damage to these structures, especially if the hair is also subjected to chemicals, such as dyes and straightening products .
