SumoChief: Formally known as “Yancey Boys”, SumoChief is a London based live band/collective. With influences ranging from Jazz Fusion to Soulful Hip Hop the group have a sound that ventures into e.g. Robert Glasper’s shores, but not quite so similar as to be imitative. On songs like “1of1" and “Gator Season” the guitar acts as the leading instrument. Key stabs, bass and drums often flow along to the guitars melodic pattern and audio snippets from music interviews, give songs a quirky ambience.

The Mouse Outfit:

The Mouse Outfit are a Manchester based production team and live band. While much of the music on their debut “Escape Music” drew strong influence from Hip Hop, Jazz and Reggae, there’s also quite substantial amounts of soul behind their sound. Producers, Pitch and Chini seem to be the driving force for this, with production on songs like “Who To Trust (Instrumental)” providing evidence of the outfit’s great ear for smooth bass lines, percussion and rhodes.
