The End of Empathy

Well written, and thanks for sharing. It’s often hard to share something of this magnitude on the internet, because of everything you’ve discussed in this. I can’t imagine losing my brother in such a public way, and I can only imagine what your family has gone through. I recently had a picture of my wife go viral, and for the most part, it was well received and everyone had a laugh, but some comment sections were absolutely terrible. It got to the point where we stopped reading them, and I thought about what it would be like for someone who was dealing with something awful go viral instead of a funny picture. We got some really great comments in with the bad, and those actually meant a lot.
