Launched in 2013, Theneeds is your smart personalized web, a place to discover and share the best news, videos, social posts, and more, tailored to your specific interests.

“Everyone is searching for a way to end the disconnectedness of the Internet, and Theneeds does so smartly… It’s like having a fancy Internet remote control that leaves out all the boring channels.”

Keith Liles, Editor at Killer Startups

Theneeds scours the web so you don’t have to, constantly learning about your interests, and bringing you only the web you love, in one single place. Pulling from thousands of sources, from top sites to cool blogs, social networks, and people just like you, and its advanced technology constantly learns from your activity to get smarter and more relevant the more you use it.

Theneeds recently launched on iPhone to give iOS users this personalized view of the web and all the latest stories that matter to them. The app initially takes you through a tutorial on how to use its various features and once done you will be able to pick your interests from some base topics. The homescreen of the app will also show you posts from your Facebook and Twitter accounts and is presented to you in a very Windows Phone style tiled format.

You can bookmark and share content from within the app and over time it will learn more about what your interests are to give an even more personalized view. I have been using Theneeds for ITB since last year to get our content out to an even wider audience and I have to say that the service is very good. You can vote up or down content with the help of little arrow icons and this really does work, you will find your own posts being pushed along by other users the more up’s it gets.

The app performance it quite good with occasional stuttering but over time I am sure this will be ironed out.

Theneeds is available on iOS for your iPhone or iPad, grab it by scanning the QR code below or by clicking it from within your devices web browser.
