Get your Payoneer card quickly
If you don’t know what Payoneer is, it is a payement service like Paypal or Skrill which allows you to get payed online.
When I started my Freelance business at Upwork as a PHP and JavaScript Developer, I was wondering how I am going to do to withdraw my earning. I created a Paypal account but unfortunately, I’ve just realised that I can’t receive any online payement on my Paypal account because of my country(Madagascar). I was thinking about making an international money transfer but wait… $30 per withdraw, you may say that it’s just $30 but Imagine if you have to withdraw too often. With Payoneer, you only pay $1 per withdrawal.
Advantages of using Payoneer
- With the global payement service, you can receive local bank transfers from companies and marketplaces in the US, UK, EU, Japan, China, Canada and Australia directly to your Payoneer account as if you have a bank account in these countries.
- It is accepted by most of Freelance websites(Upwork, Peopleperhour, Hubstaff talent, … etc).
- You’ll receive your payement faster(2 hours maximum).
- All around the world where Master card is accepted, you can withdraw your Payoneer amount on ATM or make online payment using the Payoneer Prepaid MasterCard. Note that each Card corresponds to a currency, which means that if you have an € amount, it won’t be available to your $ card but the good news is that you can convert your currency within your payoneer account.
- The fees are cheap, $29.95 for Card Annual Activation, $1 for each ATM withdrawal. You can get the list of all fees here.
But how to get the Payoneer Prepaid MasterCard?
In order to get order a Payoneer Preapaid MasterCard, you need to receive at least a $40 once on your Payoneer account. After that you have two options :
1- Order a card for free
This is what most of people will choose(me included). When I used this option, my card didn’t arrive after waiting for 4 weeks. I checked all my surrounding post offices but they don’t get it. I searched if I can order a new card and I don’t want to wait for 4 weeks again. So I contacted the Payoneer how I can do to get my card quickly and fortunately they have the second option.
2 - Order a card via expedited shipping
For US person, you can choose US Premium FedEx Delivery at a cost of $22 (Overall shipping time is generally 4–5 business days*) or US Express FedEx Delivery at a cost of $30 (Overall shipping time is generally 3–4 business days*).
For non US person, it will be shipped by DHL Express at a cost of $40 (Overall shipping time is generally 4–7 business days*).
If you have the sufficient amount above on your Payoneer account you can use this second option by contacting the Payoneer support center on mail or live chat(I recommend this option because they don’t respond to your mail sometimes).
For me I used the live chat to contact them, note that you have to wait for some minutes(30 minutes for me) for an agent to available to chat with you. Here are some of the chat that I had with one of Payoneer live agent :
After 3 business days, you’ll get an email from DHL in which contains your tracking number, you can use it on the DHL tracking website.
After 6 days, DHL called me to inform that my card has finally arrived. I activated it by login to my Payoneer account, enter the card number and choose a PIN code and that’s it.
Now I can use my Payoneer Card anywhere and transfer my earning on Upwork directly on my Card.
