I recently had a brief encounter with a mutual friend and soon the topic turned to the recent protests and race and representation. This mutual friend for anonymity I will call him Tom here and just to provide you with some context, Tom is an educated white person with a good job and is a seemingly all round nice guy and me and my friend are both people of colour. During this brief chat Tom says “I don’t understand why people of colour in this country want representation on the TV, you don’t see white people in India fighting for…

I was recently having a conversation with a friend where we started discussing designer brands and she told me about a must-have piece of the season. “It’s very popular and sold out everywhere, I’ve made an appointment at the store to get on the waiting list.” Intrigued, I started looking in to this must-have item and found myself thinking I want it too. Last month I received a notification on my smartphone, ‘Screen time Weekly report’ notifying me I averaged 7 hours and 23 minutes of screen time per day that week. Windows has Notepad and Mac has textEdit. These basic text editors are great to start out with when learning, as you are required to type out every thing yourself i.e. there are no shortcuts whatsoever.

Once you…

Creativity noun — the use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness. Oxford dictionary

I have never considered myself a creative person and always been okay with that until not so long ago. Having travelled and made some new friends, one in particular, who oozed creativity it made me realise his life was so much richer and fuller than mine in ways I hadn’t even considered before. Is creativity, one of many answers to happiness? Possibly.

I realised that although I’ve always lived a somewhat fulfilling life in comparison my life felt pretty dull. I wanted to create…
