LinkedIn — it’s takes more than setting up a profile….
Over the last few weeks of going through LinkedIn with some people, one thing that stood out, is the lack of engagement…
The common feedback was that if someone sends you an email or text, you tend to reply quickly but never take more than a few hours. Yet, why is it that it can be several days or weeks before people reply to you — if at all?
Whilst Facebook and Twitter can be seen to be a more social than business platforms — they are all still Social Business platforms and the key is Social!
If someone says hello to you in the street or a shop, it is just good manners to say hello and/or acknowledge — it is called being Social.
So with the world becoming one of Social Selling comprising Social Engagement and Social Collaboration — isn't it time for you to start engaging more?
Thus, if you have a LinkedIn profile (and if you are working at any level within a company — you should have a LinkedIn account), just make sure your profile is set up correctly and just check it every day (or every two days maximum), as you just don't know who is trying to contact you and what opportunities you could be missing out on…..
