I’m in full agreement that most probably don’t make money, and the system for measuring listenership is a little hacky and not easily measurable… but again — TV and radio don’t have those numbers to any on the mark measure — it’s all an estimation based on the reported data available.

Podcasts aren’t YouTube videos — you have to look at them like TV and radio to see how the advertising should work (at least as it stands now). There’s also a fear among MANY podcasters of the YouTube-ization (and ultimately, the deterioration) of podcasting.

There needs to be a better solution, but I don’t know if “YouTube for audio” is the answer.
