Are you using these to reach Gen Z?
This is from http://iantubbs.com/digital-marketing-to-a-post-millennial-world/
Everyone talks about millenials, but what about their younger siblings? you know Generation Z. The youngest of that age group are already 16 years old with cash, less regard to spending, and ADHD. Alone they account for $44 billion, but factor in the amount they get their parents to buy the figure is closer to $200 bill.
Step 1. VIDEO, VIDEO, VIDEO
You have to meet them where they are. FB video, FB Live Stream, Periscope, Snap Chat, Instagram, YouTube. #USETHEM FB video ads perform 21 times better than photo ads and they were 95% more cost efficient as a result.
Step 2. Make Them Laugh
Everyone knows that younger people don’t like to be advertised to, but they love seeing funny commercials, that don’t pressure them. They like content that makes them feel good. They want to buy, they just want to feel in charge. They love cheap laughs like cat videos, but they crave videos that teach them in a “how to” manner.
Step 3. Video Length
You have to experiment with the video length that suits you brand. Are you the fun relatable brand that posts every couple of hours, or are you the expert brand that does +20 minute videos that people wait two weeks for the next video? Bloomberg.com, “says that for trivial matters gen Z has an 8 second attention span.” However if it’s worth it they will watch.
Step 4. Hablas español??
Did you consider that Gen Z is the most diverse generation? One way to reach them is to speak to them. A study has shown that the US Hispanic population is growing. They simply can’t be ignored right. Everyone knows that but how many businesses actually talk to them? try it out and see your engagement grow.
