Oh YES, it definitely does. It has given my spirituality a veyr big boost. Also my writing, I write about non-spirtiual things as well and quite a few long stories. Of course, being retired helps. When I did, I thought ok, thats enough of the rat race, how are you going to escape from all the agressions, noise, advertising, pollution and the like. Answer was deep country.

I actually considered a monastery, but I was put off by having to get up at all hours to do religious services, so I came here instead. I don’t have a life, as most people view it, but i am quite happy with it. The only real downside that rears its head from time to time is not having anybody to share things with. I get a bit fed up of being in the same place all the time. I’m widely travelled in Europe. It would be nice to visit India, for example, but its no fun at all on your own, as least thats how I feel about it, which is demotivating to make the effort to go.
