You certainly got the most important point first. That is to get your text right and not mess about formatting it as you go. By the time you’ve finished editing and revising it, all your page breaks are likely to be in the wrong place and, if the document is long, that’s a real pain!

I don’t actually use a word processor for writing, but a text processor, NoteTab. It has few formating facilities. When the text is as correct as its going to get, then I import it into word processor. Often I find you can get better control and more easily using HTML and it has the facility for coverting to or from HTML, especially if you are going to be using images, tables and the like.
