::CardStack:: Making Blockchains Usable

Cardstack is a decentralized blockchain project that aims to create an easier way to connect and communicate with applications, much like the invention of the internet. Cardstack wants to fight against centralized platforms and create software that is decentralized and more efficient while using its native token — [CARD].
Cardstack will make it possible for developers to create projects with its extensive software development kits (SDK) and other functional implementations. This will allow the blockchain to seamlessly interact with a variety of different services ultimately having the customer’s convenience as a top priority.

Consumer Control

One of the problems with applications today is that they don’t work together and are often set alone. This creates a lot of competition where many applications will do nearly the same thing while the users will often have to compensate for different features instead of getting one application with everything included. Mobile phones are everywhere and applications are thriving although new monetization models have been created since people no longer want to purchase applications, instead many have approached free services with a paid premium subscription. Many cloud-based applications have gone down this route of offering premium monthly subscriptions to their services which, in turn, forces users to manage multiple cloud storage applications to figure out the best plans for there needs.

This is not simple -having to remember passwords, credit cards , and login information. Or if the company shuts down, is purchased, or simply disappears, then the user might lose data they have stored, be forced to repurchase, or just lose all service.

With the millions of applications out today with similar technology and overlapping features that users have to compensate for — Cardstack wants to bring the features back and leave the user in control and not the companies.

Introduction Explainer Video

In today’s cryptocurrency era, there are still problems with applications, such as utility tokens. These tokens offer something great with the benefits of using blockchain technology, however, they only offer one or two functions that don’t communicate with each other. These decentralized applications don’t work with each other and have different utility tokens, making it hard to store and keep track of — repeating the same problems as with traditional applications.

The Cardstack Solution

Cardstack plans on building a huge ecosystem of decentralized applications that are able to inter-connect and communicate with each other to actually push the adoption of these decentralized applications. By building an open source platform — Cardstack is able to allow any developers to build on an open network for all users to enjoy while creating an ecosystem for these applications to work together and not simply waste their time fighting with competitive updates and similar features. All of this action will be within the experience layer of the blockchain and will be the true decentralized internet. Users will be given the power now to coordinate transactions locally, via the cloud, or through the consensus models of various blockchains.
Outside of the traditional use cases of cryptocurrency which are finance and trading, users will now be able to build innovative applications like social networks and service applications that all work together
