Lolly, you speak gospel.
I once interviewed for an Attending Physician position at Mt Sinai back in 2008. It took about 15 back and forth emails to get an interview. The woman in charge of hiring would send me an email “We’re at the Conference in Tampa. Can you come to our booth so we can meet you before we decide whether to interview you?” I was finishing my Residency in NYC, and didn’t have the money to hop on a plane the next day. Then when I went through a full day interview process and met all the top brass from their department, went on rounds with a young Attending who’d come back to work two weeks after having her second child, I didn’t hear back from them for a week until I received a cut and paste rejection email with wonky margins. I’m so glad I didn’t take that job. My experience in Medicine is the bigger the name, the bigger the A-holes.
