Love begins with the absence of harm. Wherever there is harm, there isn’t love. Love elevates, expands, enlightens. Harm cannot do any of these things. Harm diminishes, reduces, belittles. You cannot really love someone and harm them any more than light can become shadow. They are opposites, absences, negatives. Love is what the rain does to the soil, the soil does to the seed, the seed does to the sky.
