Hopefully, once he is out of office, Obama will use his considerable skill and power to make the horrible racial divide in this country better. He cannot go into the twilight of his career sitting on the sidelines. If he can make blacks feel safer, and help level the playing field with the white majority, then that will be his shining legacy, not the 8 years he spent fighting for change with the uncooperative Republican party.
